NAI TALCOR Announces Largest State Office Relocation in Two Decades


TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA – [ March, 2019] – NAI TALCOR, a member of the world’s premier managed network of commercial real estate firms, announced today that John McNeill, a member of our Tallahassee brokerage advisor team, worked with Blackwater Resources to negotiate one of the largest office relocation opportunities for the State of Florida. The Centre of Tallahassee will be the relocation site of over 400,000 SF of State offices in 2019. Moving from multiple locations, The Department of State Division of Corporations, The Department of Health, and The Department of Children and Families are among the offices that will make The Centre of Tallahassee their new home.

Over the last few years, The Centre of Tallahassee has revitalized the former Tallahassee Mall property including The Pavilion, an event space for concerts, parties, and more. This location is also home to the School of Arts and Sciences. With additional retail stores including Belks, AMC, Dreamland BBQ, Ross Dress for Less, Dollar Tree, Guitar Center, Barnes and Noble, Cold Stone Creamery, and more.

The Centre will deliver approximately 2,000 additional state positions, bringing a resurgence of the property and surrounding North Monroe corridor. The idea to pursue the State of Florida as a potential tenant for the Centre was one that NAI TALCOR Advisor John McNeill approached ownership with in early 2017.  NAI TALCOR was hired by Blackwater Resources and worked in conjunction with them to land these deals.
