NAI Southern Real Estate Broker, Jay Vaughan, Represented Uniquetex in their Acquisition of a 356,235 SF Plant in Grover, North Carolina

NAI Southern Real Estate Broker, Jay Vaughan, Represented Uniquetex, a joint venture of two Chinese manufacturers, in their acquistion of a 356,235 SF plant on 99.46 AC in Grover, North Carolina. Grover is some 30 miles West of Charlotte. This is the Chinese company's first operation in the United States. Uniquetex announced that they are spending $31.6 Million dollars to acquire and equip this facility which will manufacture non-woven fabrics for medical and healthcare providers and users. This manufacturer’s move to North Carolina is part of a larger trend among foreign textile companies. The Carolinas were once a hotbed of the American textile industry but starting in the late 1990s mills closed and thousands of jobs went overseas where labor and materials were cheaper. Now, attracted by lower costs of energy, cotton and land, and wary of rising labor costs in China, Chinese manufacturers are setting their eyes on the U.S.
