Young Bergen Professional Finds Reserve at Montvale Ideal for First Home Purchase

Montvale, NJ, August 2016 – Matt Weiss had his eye on The Reserve at Montvale for a while. The Bergen County native first noticed the new K. Hovnanian® townhome community when construction began last year. “I spent over a year looking at different condominium and townhome developments throughout Bergen County,” Weiss shared. “Ideally, I wanted new construction and a townhome setup. As a young professional with no children, I didn’t need a home with a lot of additional property to maintain. When I saw a newspaper ad indicating construction would be starting for The Reserve at Montvale, I went online to learn more. The more I read, the more I realized this might be the perfect fir for me.”

The Reserve at Montvale has been a popular choice for many young professionals like Matt Weiss. The new community offers an appealing blend of spacious, modern new townhomes with a convenient Bergen County location that’s ideal for commuters, and an idyllic setting that provides a nice sense of privacy and peacefulness. Weiss explained how those factors added up for him.

“First, was the location,” he said. “I work in Montvale, so that was a big benefit. Second, occasionally I commute to the city for business and we’re only a mile-and-a-half from a Park & Ride, which is a huge plus. I can be in the city in thirty minutes. In addition to professional considerations, it’s also a very well-situated development. The development is built in a cul-de-sac – there’s no through road, so we have very minimal traffic. It’s quiet, with a country-like atmosphere and woods behind us. I love the fact that it’s secluded – but at the same time you’re just a few minutes from getting to major destinations.”

Weiss was also impressed with the homes at The Reserve at Montvale. Buyers have a choice of four different floorplans, in two unique townhome styles: stacked and traditional two-story townhomes. The Norfolk and Yale designs feature the stacked townhome floorplans, offering up to 2,101 square feet of living space, with either three bedrooms and two-and-a-half baths, or two bedrooms and three baths. Homes also feature one-car garages, with fine features and finishes throughout. Pricing for these homes begins in the low-$500s (subject to change).

It was the Norfolk model that caught Weiss’ eye. “I looked at a lot of communities and townhome developments and this was the only model I’ve seen that has three full bathrooms in a two-bedroom setup. Typically, a two-bedroom unit has one or at most two full bathrooms. It’s a really unique offering. I also love the outside patio area, especially for entertaining guests during the spring and summer months. Plus, I like how you come into the home on the ground floor, instead of going up steps. It’s convenient for when you have groceries to bring into the house, for example.”

The traditional townhome floorplans are the Radford and Princeton II homes, which offer up to 2,378 square feet of living space, with three bedrooms, two-and-a-half baths, and two-car garages. Pricing for these homes begins from the mid-$700s (subject to change). These homes have been selling especially well and, in fact, are now in final countdown, with only a few of each remaining.

All homes feature nine-foot ceilings throughout the main level and designer kitchens with beautifully crafted cabinetry, granite surface countertops, built-in pantry closets, and GE® appliances. Elegant bathrooms include granite vanity tops, ceramic tile walls in the tub and shower area, and a double sink in the owner’s bath. The homes are impressive on the outside as well, with partial stone exteriors, attractive carriage-style, raised-panel garage doors, and charming exterior lanterns at the front and garage doors.

Ranked 12th on New Jersey Monthly’s 2015 list of the state’s “Top 100 Towns,” Montvale provides residents with a high quality of life, including top-ranked schools, outstanding recreation programs, a variety of cultural activities, and easy access to plenty of great shops and restaurants. Reserve at Montvale homeowners are located less than 10 miles from Westfield Garden State Plaza, Palisades Center, the Outlets at Bergen Center, and nearby Tices Corner Marketplace. The area is home to many beautiful parks and a variety of golf courses, as well. In addition to being close to the George Washington Bridge for an easy commute into New York City, the borough is conveniently accessible to the Garden State Parkway, NJ Turnpike, NY Thruway, Routes 304, 80, 17, 4, and the Palisades Parkway. Montvale also has its own NJ Transit® station.

As a first-time buyer, Matt Weiss was pleased with how smooth the purchase process was. “K. Hovnanian® was a pleasure to work with during the process,” he commented. “When paperwork needed to be completed, at every turn they were responsive and helped to ensure I was able to close on my home in a timely fashion.”

Weiss closed on his home at The Reserve at Montvale on May 31st and moved in early June. While he’s still busy unpacking and hanging pictures, he’s excited to settle in, meet new neighbors, and watch the community grow. “Everything has been going wonderfully for me and the pace is really picking up, with more people moving in,” he shared. “I expected it to be a very professional class of people and it is: young marrieds and young families. There are people who commute into New York City every day, as well as several like myself who work at some of the big corporations here in Bergen County. It’s a good mix of people.”
