Transwestern Continues Northeast Expansion with Top Tier Property Management Team

(MAY 14, 2012 – PARSIPPANY, NEW JERSEY) – As part of its expansion in the area, Transwestern today announced that it is has named Robert L. Chenoweth, PE, to serve as Vice President of Property Management for the Northeast Region. Additionally, Monique Brice will serve as Senior Property Manager for Transwestern’s initial assignment in New Jersey, 300 Kimball Drive, a headquarters-quality, Class A office asset in the Parsippany market. Transwestern recently announced its continuing expansion in the Northeast with the establishment of a corporate office in New Jersey.

 

Chenoweth will be responsible for directing, controlling, planning, operating and scheduling all property management assignments within the region and providing leadership for the property management team.

Chenoweth has a 30-plus-year career of diverse experience handling all aspects of commercial real estate, including corporate outsourcing and account management, asset and portfolio management, construction management, and business expansion including facilities maintenance, project management, space management, energy management, and lease administration activities.

 

“Part of the Transwestern initiative in the Northeast is to provide best-in-class management services and it’s vital that we have a capable and dedicated team on board to handle each assignment we secure,” said James Postell, Principal, who heads up Transwestern’s New Jersey office. “Having worked with Bob previously, he was my first choice for this position because I have seen him in action and I know he can get the job done. The depth of his experience will greatly benefit Transwestern as we expand and take on additional property management assignments in the Northeast.”

 

Chenoweth previously served as Vice President of Facilities Management for Pinnacle Realty Management Company, Director of Facilities, Convergys Corporation; Director of Engineering Operations for CB Richard Ellis and Trammell Crow Company. He was Director of Facilities for Barnes & Noble Bookstores in New York City and Director of Construction and Maintenance for Hess Oil in Woodbridge, N.J. He was also the Hazard Mitigation Officer for the Federal Emergency Management Agency; and the Chicago area District Engineer for the Federal Highway Administration overseeing 120 projects totaling $65-million in the Chicago Metropolitan area.

“I was drawn to Transwestern because of the solid support system and organization that is in place and because six years in a row Texas Monthly named them one of the best companies to work for and I’m from Texas way back,” said Chenoweth. “The site support is absolutely incredible, from financial reporting to sustainability support. Having all those resources to draw upon will translate to the clients.”

Chenoweth has a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Texas Tech University. Among his honors and achievements he counts serving as a 2010 Speaker for the West Point graduating class, being on the Professional Retail Store Maintenance Association (PRSM) Board of Directors and receiving the Sustained Superior Performance Award from the Federal Insurance Administration (FEMA) and the Director’s Award for Meritorious Service from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Prior to joining Transwestern, Brice served as an Adminstrative Services Supervisor for State Farm Insurance Companies.

 

Her responsibilities included managing building and grounds maintenance, utilities, cleaning, contract management, health and safety, space management, catering and vending. Also, she managed a $14-million operation center budget, oversaw 40 operation center service contracts and reviewed rendered services. Brice has an MBA from Dowling College and a Bachelor’s Degree in sociology from the University of Pennsylvania.

 

“We are in the process of recruiting high-caliber tenant for Transwestern’s New Jersey office and found Monique to be an ideal fit for this role,” added Postell. “Her extensive experience will greatly benefit us as we move forward with plans to upgrade 300 Kimball.”

 

Located within The Center of Morris County at the intersection of I-80 and I-287, the five-story asset provides a highly visible location in a campus setting with one of the nation's largest concentrations of Fortune 500 corporate headquarters including names such as Day Pitney LLP. The 400,000-square-foot site is able to accommodate the immediate space requirements of a wide range of tenants, including those with large block needs.

 

Building amenities include a large cafeteria, spacious floor plates with flexible build-out options, and separate storage. The site boasts 525 parking spaces, including executive covered parking, and an accessible location at intersection of Interstates 80, 280 and 287; US Routes 46 and 202 and NJ Routes 10 and 53. Plans are in place to pursue LEED certification, prepare the lobby for multi-tenant use, and add an on-site gym.
