Sprint and Great Clips Join Tucker Development’s Chicago-Area Tenant Roster
Stores Choose Tucker’s South Loop Marketplace and Huntley Grove Shopping Centers, Respectively, for Long-Term Leases
CHICAGO, Ill. (Dec. 10, 2014) — Tucker Development, a leading fund manager and developer of shopping centers and mixed-use properties, today announced two new lease signings for its Chicago-area portfolio with Sprint Corporation and Great Clips. The new tenants will be located in Tucker’s Downtown Chicago and Huntley properties, respectively.
Sprint, a leading telecommunications provider with over 50 million users, signed a lease on approximately 1,500 square feet of retail space in Tucker’s bustling South Loop Marketplace in Downtown Chicago.
Great Clips, the world’s largest salon brand with thousands of locations in North America, signed a 1,000 square-foot lease at the landmark Huntley Grove Shopping Center, part of one of suburban Chicago’s most desirable communities.
Tucker Development was represented in-house by Director of Leasing Andrew White on both transactions. Sprint was represented by Peter Caruso, VP of Jones Lang LaSalle.
The addition of these industry leaders to Tucker’s portfolio is significant, as Sprint and Great Clips will combine with Tucker’s other marquis tenants to provide the very best retail experience to the public.
Sprint signed its lease at Tucker’s South Loop Marketplace, in the heart of the Roosevelt Road Corridor in Chicago. With the South Loop Marketplace’s ideal location in downtown Chicago, the 125,000-square-foot shopping center proves attractive for businesses in search of accessible retail space in The Loop. The retail center, which boasts onsite parking, serves an estimated 350,000 people are located within a three-mile radius, attracting tenants including Jewel-Osco, Walgreen’s, FedEx and ATI Physical Therapy.
Great Clips signed a 10-year lease at Tucker’s Huntley Grove Shopping Center in Huntley, IL, a suburban community that recently saw its population quadruple. The salon was attracted to the 350,000 square-foot shopping center because of the quality of its existing crop of retail offerings. With tenants including a Wal-Mart Supercenter, McDonald’s and AutoZone, the Huntley Grove Shopping Center has become the highest-drawing retail location in the rapidly expanding city.
