08/04/2014

NAI Mertz is pleased to announce Vice President Roy Kardon, SIOR as a recipient of Philadelphia Business Journal’s 2014 Heavy Hitters of Real Estate Award.

The award program recognizes leaders in the commercial real estate industry, ranging from brokers to architects to developers. Kardon was named ‘Do-Gooder of the Year’ by Philadelphia Business Journal along with Michael Garden of The Garden Collaborative/CITYSPACE. The award reflects Kardon’s dedication and integrity to both his work and his community.

In addition to selling and leasing over 2.6 million square feet of commercial real estate, Kardon also serves as an active volunteer for a variety of charities and renowned organizations.  He is co-chair of the American Cancer Society’s DetermiNation – an organization that helps train and motivate individuals to compete in long-distance races in the fight against cancer. He is also President of The Golden Slipper Senior Center that serves meals to over 400 seniors, many living in poverty.

This is not the first time Kardon has been recognized for his success as both a commercial real estate broker and community volunteer. Just last year, Gold Slipper honored him with a Making a Difference Award.  In 2011, he received Tristate Realtors’ Commercial Alliance’s inaugural Good Citizenship Award, as well as the American Cancer Society Volunteer Achievement Award. He was also featured in Mid-Atlantic Real Estate Journal Year in Review in May/June 2012, and earned a Power Broker Award from Costar in 2009.

Kardon’s community service influences his work here at NAI Mertz, allowing him to connect with his clients on a more personal level. As a landlord representative, he is proud to have maintained relationships that have continued for many years. Kardon is a prime example of NAI Mertz continuous commitment to serving the needs of southern New Jersey and the greater Philadelphia area.
