RMK Management Corp. to Oversee Leasing, Property Management of 1620 Central in Evanston, Ill.

(CHICAGO) – RMK Management Corp., one of the Chicago area’s largest market-rate apartment management firms, announced it has been tapped to oversee all aspects of leasing and property management for 1620 Central, a 47-unit new-construction luxury, boutique rental building located at 1620 Central St. in the heart of Evanston, Ill. The four-story building with below-grade parking, developed by TJM Development, Inc., is currently under construction with on-site preleasing to begin in fall 2016. Real Capital Solutions, Inc. and First National Bank provided financing for the project.

“The Central Street corridor is a neighborhood we know well, so this property is a great fit for RMK,” said Anthony Rossi, Sr., CEO of RMK Management. “We also know, through our successful experience leasing and managing the nearby Central Station community, which is 98-percent leased, there are very few new-construction luxury rental options in north Evanston, so we expect demand to be quite high.”

1620 Central will offer one-, two- and three-bedroom apartment homes, each with private outdoor space. Apartments will measure 601 to 1,297 square feet and include luxury finishes such as 9-foot ceilings, quartz countertops, key fob system, luxury plank flooring, modern cabinets and high-end plumbing fixtures. Parking will also be available in a 54-stall, climate-controlled underground garage.

Building amenities include elevators, secure bike storage room, an electronic package management system, Pressbox service for dry cleaning drop off and pick up, and secure entry and cameras. Residents at 1620 Central will also receive a complimentary, one-year pass for either Metra or CTA, as well as a one-year pass for Divvy bike share, which recently added a station two blocks from the building. These attractive transportation ‘extras’ could represent up to $1,755 in cost savings per year.

Designed to meet LEED® Silver status, sustainable elements integral to the design include an expansive green roof and energy-efficient designs which will translate to additional cost-savings for residents.

There are also abundant transportation options, noted Rossi, including the Central Street Metra station, which is two blocks away, and the CTA’s purple line Central Street stop, four blocks away. 1620 Central is also near several parks and approximately 1 mile to Grosse Point Lighthouse beach.

Nearby schools include top-rated Kingsley Elementary School and Haven Middle School, both within walking distance. St. Athanasius, offering a private Catholic education for grades kindergarten through eighth, is less than a block south of the community. 1620 Central is served by award-winning Evanston Township High School.
