Retail Brokers Network (RBN) Selects Chuck Lanyard of The Goldstein Group as President




PARAMUS, N.J. (May 13, 2013) – The Retail Brokerage Network (RBN), a retail networking group whose members specialize in retail real estate brokerage, announced that Chuck Lanyard will be the incoming national president of RBN, effective May 19, 2013. Lanyard will take the position at the Retail Brokers Network annual meeting in Las Vegas. Lanyard is a veteran of the retail real estate industry with over 35 years of experience in leasing, planning, development and construction, and is president of The Goldstein Group, New Jersey’s leading retail brokerage firm. He is currently a member of the RBN Executive Committee, and a member of its Restaurant Council.

Promoted to president of The Goldstein Group in 2000, Lanyard oversees the largest retail brokerage firm in New Jersey, which has a leasing and sales portfolio totaling over 12 million sf.  He manages the firm’s more than 20 retail brokers and is responsible for The Goldstein Group’s growth and leasing of more than a million sf of retail space over the past 3 years.  Through his leadership, The Goldstein Group has become a leader in retail real estate brokerage in New Jersey and the Lower Hudson Valley of New York.  Lanyard heads the firm’s Restaurant Division, as well as Team Paramus, which has consummated over 70 transactions in the Paramus market over the past 5 years. 

Prior to this position, Lanyard held a senior position at Levey Companies, where he was involved in the disposition of over 100 Channel Home Centers throughout the New York Tri-State area.  During his career, he has represented many national and regional retailers throughout New Jersey such as Barnes & Noble, TJ Maxx, Capital One Bank, Pier 1 Imports, Trader Joe’s, McDonald’s, Applebee’s, Darden Restaurants and TGI Friday’s.  He has leased more than a million sf of retail space at various lifestyle, powercenter, and neighborhood shopping centers throughout New Jersey on behalf of such owners as Onyx Equities, Forest City Ratner, A&P Supermarkets, Vornado, Urstadt Biddle, Hampshire Management, Federal Realty, and Florham Realty.

He is known throughout the industry as the “go to” retail real estate professional and has been a guest speaker at numerous events for organizations such as the Commerce & Industry Association of New Jersey, NJBiz, RealShare Real Estate Conferences, and the New Jersey Appraisal Association.  Lanyard was also a guest lecturer for over ten years at the NYU Graduate School Program for Real Estate.  He served as past Chairman of the Planning Committee of the 2010 New York ICSC Conference, a member of the ICSC NYC Planning Committee, and a past member of the New Jersey State Supreme Court District Ethics Committee. 

He has been quoted numerous times in such major publications as The New York Times, The Star Ledger, The Bergen Record, NJBiz,, Dealmakers, and numerous other print and online publications.  Lanyard has twice been recognized by NJBiz as one of New Jersey’s “Top 50 Most Influential Real Estate Professionals.”  Lanyard was highlighted on the popular weekly radio program “The Road to Significance”, hosted by Sal Savo, which honors New Jersey business individuals who have been influential in giving and helping others in their industry.
