Reed Construction Continues Growth with Four New Project Team Members

CHICAGO – Reed Construction is pleased to announce that the firm has hired two new project managers, Andy Wagner and David Lapidus, and two new superintendents, Jim Rubel and John Menendez, to its growing construction team.

“With the addition of key new hires bolstering our roster in the past year, our project list continues to expand,” said William T. Birck, president of Reed Construction. “As such, we continue to look for the most experienced, professional and qualified candidates to join our team. We look forward to working with Jim, Andy, David and John and know they will make significant contributions to our clients.”

As project managers, Wagner and Lapidus will be responsible for budgeting and bidding, coordination of field personnel, and overall management of project processes. Lapidus will also conduct business development and project management for Reed Construction’s luxury residence group. Wagner has more than eight years of experience in construction and was previously a project manager and superintendent with Friedler Construction. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering from Iowa State University and volunteers for River City Community Church. With more than seven years in construction, Lapidus joins Reed Construction from Power Construction where he was an assistant project manager. He is a graduate of Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Economics.

Rubel and Menendez collectively bring more than 40 years of experience to their roles as superintendents with Reed Construction. Their responsibilities will include the supervising and scheduling of trades, deliveries, personnel as well as managing daily inspections to maintain a safe and efficient work environment while keeping projects on schedule and under budget. Prior to joining Reed Construction, Rubel served as a superintendent with Novak Construction. He is a graduate of Western Illinois University. Menendez was previously employed with Sequoia GCC as a superintendent. He holds a Bachelor of Construction Management from Wentworth Institute of Technology.
