Philly Sports Radio Personality Finds Perfect Fit at The Residences at Dockside

Philadelphia, PA, December 2014: There are certain points in life when you know it’s time to move up – to step up your game, in terms of how and where you live. Philadelphia sports radio personality Joe DeCamara reached one of those pivotal moments a couple of years ago, when he made a positive lifestyle change by moving to The Residences at Dockside, one of the city’s most popular waterfront condominium communities.

DeCamara is a well-known sports talk radio host whose show was tied for Philadelphia’s number one most-listened to radio program in its timeslot this past October. DeCamara can be heard every weeknight at 6:00 on 97.5-FM The Fanatic in Philadelphia, with special guest hosts including former Eagles great Ron Jaworski on Wednesday nights and ESPN’s Adam Caplan on Fridays. He also hosts the Fanatic's Pre-Game Show prior to all Eagles games, along with Jeremiah Trotter and Michael Bradley, and has previously hosted the 76ers Pre-Game Show. DeCamara has broadcast shows in Philadelphia for over ten years and has interviewed some of the city’s most notable sports figures including Brian Dawkins, Ryan Howard, Donovan McNabb, Cole Hamels, Claude Giroux, and the late, great Joe Frazier. He has also hosted a variety of shows for national ESPN Radio with coverage in all 50 states. With his professional career taking off, DeCamara started to feel it was time to step up his lifestyle, as well.

“I was looking for a new apartment and it just felt like the right time in my life to go for something nice,” DeCamara shared. “I knew about Dockside through my good buddy, Darren Daulton. Dutch lived there for a few years and knowing he was there and how much he enjoyed it, that made me want to check it out. I vividly remember when I texted Dutch one day to inquire about Dockside, to really get the inside scoop, and his response said it all. He said, ‘It’s the real deal!’” For DeCamara, who used to host a radio show with the legendary Phillies catcher, having Daulton’s stamp of approval was enough for him to make an appointment to visit Dockside. He recalls his first impression being a memorable one.

“I was blown away with how nice it is!” DeCamara said. “I was really intrigued from the moment I walked in. I had looked around a lot in the city, probably upwards of ten to twelve places this time, plus others I had seen in the past. This was hands down the best I had seen. The location is fantastic, the amenities are tremendous, the views are phenomenal, and the condos are beautiful. It was just the right fit at the right time for me, with regard to my life – what I wanted to do and where I wanted to be. I was ready for a certain level of comfort – and I found it here at Dockside.”

The Residences at Dockside has a way of making a strong first impression on people. Quietly set on the Delaware River, the 16-story luxury waterfront condominium has earned a reputation as one of Philadelphia’s most unique residential experiences. Remarkably close to Center City, yet nicely removed from all the “buzz” of the city, the private, gated community features upscale condominiums for sale or rent, offering a low-maintenance lifestyle and some of the finest resort-style amenities available in the area.

At The Residences at Dockside, buyers can choose from a variety of floorplans that suit many different lifestyles. The elegant, spacious one, two, and three-bedroom condominiums feature expansive private terraces, designer kitchens with high-end appliances and granite countertops, in-unit washers and dryers, hardwood floors, and generous storage space. The condominiums can also be fully customized to meet buyers’ needs. Residents enjoy gated access, state-of-the-art security, a 24-hour concierge, and ample indoor parking, including reserved spaces and free visitor parking. Prices start from the upper-$200,000s.

Residents at Dockside also enjoy some of the city’s best views, including sweeping panoramas of the river, the Ben Franklin Bridge, and the Philadelphia skyline. Being the sports fanatic that he is, DeCamara was also thrilled to discover one particular view from his condo. “My condo faces south, and you can see the stadiums. You can actually see the flares going off after a game-winning home run or a touchdown!”

In addition to the beautiful homes and spectacular views, The Residences at Dockside provides amenities that are simply unparalleled in the area. Residents are never at a loss for social or recreational opportunities, either at home in their building, or just steps away from their front door. The building’s resort-like amenities include a heated indoor pool, a fitness center with cardio and resistance equipment, a hot tub, and a spacious Club Room for entertaining, which features a full catering kitchen, pool table, grand piano, large-screen TV and adjacent 4,100-square-foot terrace overlooking the river. Many residents use the room, which can accommodate up to 125 people, to host private parties and business meetings.

Located in the center of the thriving Delaware River waterfront, Dockside is a short walk from Penn’s Landing and close to lots of high-end shopping, restaurants and nightlife. The Race Street Pier, Sugarhouse Casino, Delaware River Trail, Seaport Museum, Adventure Aquarium and Susquehanna Bank Center are all easily accessible. Residents can also take a short walk over the South Street Bridge for more great shopping and dining in the city, or take advantage of the free shuttle bus that runs daily from their building to Center City, with a number of stops conveniently located along Walnut and Market Streets. And the community’s close proximity to major thoroughfares, including I-95, I-76 and 676, makes it easy for residents to travel to the Jersey shore or anywhere throughout the tri-state area.

DeCamara found the building’s location one of its best features. “I love the proximity,” he commented. “I work in Bala Cynwyd and it’s the easiest thing for me to get on 95 or 676. I can cut across the city in just a couple of minutes. We have fantastic access to the stadiums, either down Columbus Avenue or on 95. I can easily hop on 95 North to go visit family or to go to New York. And I love being so close to Penn’s Landing, with the whole river component, the festivals and everything. There are so many things at our disposal, living here. I walked from Dockside to South Street and I actually timed it – it took five minutes! It’s probably a ten-minute walk to Old City. And as an American, I get a real thrill out of the historic elements of Philadelphia and Independence Hall. When I have friends come to visit, it’s all right there!”

DeCamara moved into Dockside in February 2013 and has been thoroughly impressed with everything about the building, including the people. “The residents are all very friendly,” he said. “There are a number of people from the Philly sports community here that I know. And I’m very close with the guys at the front desk. Those guys are great – they do such a fantastic job and they’re a major part of my enjoyment at Dockside. Everyone has just been so good to work with. Right from the first time I walked in or even spoke to Luke and Noreen on the phone, I could just tell it was an incredibly professional office with quality people who care about Dockside and are looking out for the best interests of residents and prospective residents. I was thoroughly impressed with how professional and courteous and helpful they’ve been with everything. The whole experience has been extremely impressive. It felt really right from my first visit.”
