North American Properties Continues Winning Streak in Las Vegas
LAS VEGAS – North American Properties (NAP) celebrates a three-year winning streak in Las Vegas. The International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) presented the real estate company with three gold and one silver U.S. MAXI Awards during its RECon Convention on May 17, 2015, at the Wynn Hotel.
The U.S. MAXI Awards honor the highest caliber of premier marketing, community outreach, sales promotion, NOI enhancement and new media efforts within the U.S. retail real estate industry. Atlantic Station, a mixed-use development in the heart of Midtown Atlanta, won silver for its event marketing efforts with the Shaky Knees music festival.
Avalon, a $600 million mixed-use development in Alpharetta, Georgia, won gold for its cause related marketing around The Perfect Taste, which raised $40,000 for No Kid Hungry. Avalon brought home a second gold for equipping Santa with RFID technology and elevating the holiday experience. Finally, the property, which only recently opened in October 2014, won a third gold for its creative social media campaign “The Perfect Year,” which identified a social media ambassador who in turn, received $60,000 worth of benefits including rent free at Avalon for a year.
“We’re thrilled to be recognized for the achievements of our programs at Avalon and Atlantic Station,” said Mark Toro, managing partner of NAP. “Our growing collection of MAXI Awards paired with impressive leasing and sales numbers validate our paradigm shift to create urban, walkable and experiential environments.”
The four new MAXI Awards join eight others in NAP’s trophy case. In 2012, NAP won gold for Atlantic Station’s excellence in public relations, event marketing and leasing and silver for best use of social media. And in 2014, NAP won gold for Atlantic Station’s event marketing and leasing and silver for cause related marketing. Avalon won silver for public relations. ICSC did not distribute MAXI Awards in 2013.
The U.S. MAXI Awards not only enhance and compliment the other industry regional award programs offered by ICSC, but provide information and insight to the entire retail real estate industry on what it takes to achieve the highest level of recognition in marketing and specialty leasing within the U.S. A complete list of winners can be found here.
