NJBA Helps Public Find Reliable Contractors
Hamilton, NJ, December 18, 2012– The New Jersey Builders Association (NJBA), the state’s leading trade organization for the construction industry, is pleased to announce that it has built a Job Marketplace to assist the general public in finding qualified, registered and reliable builders and contractors.
“New Jersey requires all contractors to be registered with the State. This requirement increases consumer confidence in the contractors they hire,” states Timothy Touhey, Chief Executive Officer of NJBA. “Our goal in creating the Job Marketplace is to match New Jersey residents with qualified and reputable contractors so that their construction project is completed to their satisfaction. We have also created a space where these contractors can find profiles and resumes of available workers. We encourage the many talented citizens who have not been able to find work in the Garden State’s building industry to create a profile or post their resume in our Job Marketplace.”
The NJBA Job Marketplace can be accessed www.njba.org/jobs. It includes a:
- Section for the general public to find a NJ registered contractor;
- Searchable database of NJBA Builder and Associate members (companies that supply goods and services to the building industry) listing the products and services they provide;
- Job posting area for the public to list jobs and post resumes.
“NJBA wants to ensure that the people who need their home rebuilt or repaired are able to work with highly competent contractors. NJBA members include some of the most qualified sub-contractors in the industry, as well as building material, lumber, electrical and other types of suppliers to the industry. In addition, professional services firms representing the engineering, architecture, legal, accounting and insurance industries are NJBA members ready to provide advice and counsel to those in need. The Job Marketplace will allow citizens to easily find the right company for the job,” adds Winfield “Ziggy” Ziegenfuss Jr., NJBA President. “Our Association wants to do everything that it can to help the residents of New Jersey to recover from the storms last month.”
NJBA launched a Hurricane Sandy Resource Center last month to provide advice and guidance to those in need. Visit www.njba.org/sandy to access a wealth of information on resources available from the federal and state government, as well as numerous other sources. Included is a link to the New Jersey Relief Fund founded by Governor Christie and his wife, Mary Pat. NJBA has already made a sizeable contribution to this fund and has activity encouraged its members to do the same.
