NEW JERSEY APARTMENT ASSOCIATION CHARITABLE FUND AWARDS $15,000 IN SCHOLARSHIP GRANTS
MONROE TOWNSHIP, NJ, July 1, 2013—The New Jersey Apartment Association Charitable Fund (NJAA Charitable Fund) awarded six $2,500 scholarships for undergraduate education, to three dependents of NJAA members and three residents at NJAA member-owned buildings. The NJAA Charitable Fund received 16 applications for the scholarship grants which were made available to NJAA employees and members, their dependents, and residents of NJAA member properties.
The six winners were Rachel Stepien of Robbinsville, Alex Castillo of Elizabeth, Anthony Dennis of Mount Laurel, Joseph Kuperschmidt of Voorhees, Mariah Smith of Hammonton, in New Jersey and Lauren Schneider of Port Jervis, NY.
“Education is a key mission of the New Jersey Apartment Association,” said Jean Maddalon, executive director of the NJAA. “We are thrilled to support the educational goals of our members’ and employee’s families as well as our residents though the scholarship program.”
2013 is the ninth year that the NJAA Charitable Fund has been awarding scholarships to the NJAA community. To date they have granted $52,500 to support the educational goals of 30 individuals.
All grants were awarded for the 2013-14 academic year. Scholarship recipients were evaluated by Scholarship Management Services, a third-party company not affiliated with the NJAA or the NJAA Charitable Fund.
