NAIOP NYC Presents Seminar on the Future of Workplace Interiors
The New York City Chapter of NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association, will present the program, "Workplace of the Future: The Next Wave in Tenant Interiors," during the Chapter's upcoming breakfast presentation on Thursday, Sept. 27 from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Haworth Showroom, 125 Park Avenue, 2nd Floor.
The seminar will focus on how emerging technologies, changing workforce demographics, and a shifting organizational culture affect the infrastructure of commercial office spaces.
"NAIOP NYC continues to bring industry leaders together to evaluate shifts in the commercial real estate environment," said 2012 New York City NAIOP Chapter President Brian Robin. "Technology, efficiency pressures and new social dynamics are affecting the real estate strategies of established and emerging companies. Our panel will consider how this cycle of innovation is different and how owners and tenants in New York City can adapt to these changes."
Peter J. Miscovich, Managing Director - Corporate Solutions for Jones Lang LaSalle, a recognized thought leader on the subjects of workplace mobility and innovation, will deliver the keynote address, in addition to serving as a panelist. Miscovich develops integrated corporate strategies and solutions focusing on emerging technologies, workplace innovation and sustainable urbanization. His clients include such top-tier companies and agencies as AIG, Bank of America, General Electric, General Services Administration, IBM, Merck, and Sony Time Warner.
James G. Phillips, AIA, Founder of TPG Architecture, will moderate the comprehensive panel discussion that will touch on every aspect of the integration of efficiency and design in today's workplace construction. During a distinguished career that totals more than 35 years, Phillips has established himself as one of the preeminent leaders in his field and made TPG one of the top architectural and interior design practices in New York City.
Additional panelists at the event include:
- Michael P. Davidson, Managing Director and Head of the New York Region and Global Investment Banking Real Estate Portfolio at JPMorgan Chase & Co. Since joining Chase in 2010, Davidson has been responsible for the firm's 11-million-square-foot portfolio and $1.5-billion annual operating plan.
- Calvin A. Farley, a Managing Director at Tishman Speyer who currently oversees leasing and marketing activities for the company's 17-million-square-foot portfolio of properties in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Farley has nearly 30 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry.
- Pay Wu, who serves as the Strategy and Portfolio Planning Leader for Deloitte Services LP. In this capacity, Wu leads a national team driving strategic planning and analysis of the company's 10 million square feet of real estate in the United States and India.
