NAI Mobile Announces Salco 43 Industrial Park Has Been Certified as AT&T Fiber Ready
Certification Reflects Presence of Fiber-Based, High-Speed Internet

MOBILE, Ala., October 13, 2015 - As part of AT&T’s continuing efforts to drive economic development and investment in Alabama, AT&T and NAI Mobile announced Monday that the Salco 43 Industrial Park has been certified as being AT&T Fiber Ready.

“AT&T is investing in high-speed Internet in urban and rural areas all across Alabama using the latest wired and wireless technologies, and we are proud to highlight the Salco 43 Industrial Park as one of many places in Alabama where AT&T’s fiber infrastructure is in place and ready to help local businesses drive job creation,” said Fred McCallum, president of AT&T Alabama. “Positive, pro-business policies embraced by Alabama’s state and local elected officials continue to make our state a great place to invest, and I’m proud of the work our AT&T Alabama employees have done deploying fiber and other infrastructure that delivers high-speed Internet access. Their hard work and skills, combined with millions of dollars in AT&T investment, enable Alabamians to connect and innovate.”

“In today’s world, connectivity is vital to new employers and businesses of every type. There’s no such thing as a “low-tech” business today, so economic development leaders must be able to tout the presence of high-speed Internet connectivity,” stated John Peebles, Principal of NAI Mobile. “The AT&T Fiber Ready designation is a great economic development tool for us to have.”

In addition to Salco 43 Industrial Park, Mobile Commerce Park has recently been certified as AT&T Fiber Ready also.

“Alabama is open for business, and we want to be sure that it’s clear we are connected. Our state has great people and beautiful places and is deploying leading edge technology to provide market advantages to our state-based businesses,” said Representative Napoleon Bracy. “The AT&T Fiber Ready certification allows us to confidently tell companies looking to locate in this area that they can check the critically important high-speed connectivity box. The Salco 43 Industrial Park in Mobile County is AT&T Fiber Ready!”

“Our resources in Alabama are extensive, but if potential investors aren’t aware of the tech infrastructure in place across the state, then we face the potential of missing opportunities. The AT&T Fiber Ready certification helps eliminate those missed opportunities,” stated Mobile County Commissioner Merceria Ludgood. “The Commission works hard to do our part to ensure Mobile County is headed in the right direction economically, and we appreciate the leadership of our legislators, who are doing their part in the Montgomery. Our focus on smart policies and economic development is vital to our work growing the opportunities in Mobile County.”

With the designation of being AT&T Fiber Ready, economic development leaders can more effectively position their communities for site selection by emphasizing the availability of high-speed, fiber-based services.
