NAI Keystone’s Steve Willems and Kyle McKechnie have been retained by ownership to
seek a new owner for the Shillington Farmers Market. The Market, located at 10 S.
Summit Avenue, just off Lancaster Avenue in Shillington, has been a local favorite since
Owner, Jim Daley, has operated the market since the passing of his wife Eileen Daley in
2014. Having recently retired from the postal service, Mr. Daley is looking forward to
full retirement to spend more time with his family and allowing a new owner to continue
the market’s lengthy position as a staple in the Shillington community. He hopes that by
selling the market a new owner will be able to continue the tradition and elevate the
market to new heights.
“The quality of the vendors is excellent,” said Willems who has been a regular shopper
since the late ‘90’s. “While we have terrific vendors now, we also have opportunities for
more, which would add to the experience of frequent and new shoppers.” McKechnie
added, “The market has been a constant in the community for decades and the vendors
enjoy the benefit of a loyal customer base. This opportunity represents an established
location and has significant upside for new ownership.”
As anyone who has been to the market would say, the Shillington Market remains a part
of the fabric of this community and has provided a venue for hundreds of businesses over
its history as an establishment. Please share those experiences with others to validate the
commitment the market has provided to the Greater Reading area.
