“Outstanding Building of the Year”
The Tower Moves Up to Compete for “International Building of the Year"
Rosslyn, VA, February 19, 2013– Monday Properties announced today that 1101 Wilson Boulevard, one of its Class A office buildings in Rosslyn, VA has been awarded a “TOBY” -- The Outstanding Building of the Year -- in the 250,000 to 499,999-square-foot category from the Building Owners and Management Association (BOMA) Middle Atlantic region.
The 1101 Wilson Boulevard property competed against buildings in 16 other regional major markets from Boston to Washington DC. The award will be presented at a formal ceremony on March 22, in Baltimore. With this award, 1101 Wilson Boulevard will advance to compete at BOMA’s international level. The international awards will be announced in June.
Tim Helmig, Executive Vice President and Chief Development Officer of Monday Properties, said, “This is a heartfelt honor from our industry peers that follows the experience our team enjoyed when1101 Wilson Boulevard was awarded Operating Building of the Year in 2012 by BOMA’s Washington chapter. We competed against hundreds of class A buildings operated by the best real estate companies in DC and Northern Virginia. Today’s Mid-Atlantic regional award captures the commitment that the property team has to smart operations and our keen focus on tenants and our community.”
The Outstanding Building of the Year award recognizes buildings for excellence in building management, operational efficiency, tenant retention, emergency planning, sustainability, security, parking operations, and community impact.
While 1101 Wilson Boulevard earned the regional award for excellence, it began the 21012 BOMA awards cycle when the building earned local TOBY recognition along with 1000 and 1100 Wilson Boulevard, the winner in the over one million square foot category. The three Monday Properties Class A buildings represent an urban campus environment in the center of Rosslyn, VA. The three towers share Freedom Park, a private vest pocket urban amenity for the community of Rosslyn and the building’s tenants.
