MARCUS & MILLICHAP EXPANDS ITS FOOTPRINT IN THE HOUSTON OFFICE AND INDUSTRIAL MARKET
HOUSTON, 2017 – Marcus & Millichap (NYSE: MMI), a leading commercial real estate investment services firm with offices throughout the United States and Canada, is pleased to announce the addition of two new industrial investment sales team members to Marcus & Millichap’s Houston office, according to David H. Luther, first vice president/district manager. Joining the firm are Stephen Hazen and Kent Willis who will be responsible for leveraging the firm’s office and industrial presence in the Houston metropolitan area and throughout southeast Texas.
“I am excited to have Stephen and Kent join the team and expand the footprint throughout the region,” says Luther. “Their combined experience in the industry will be of great benefit to our clients.”
Stephen Hazen joins Marcus & Millichap with several years of industrial and office real estate experience. Prior to being in real estate, he spent 10 years in medical device sales and management. Within his first six months with Marcus & Millichap, Hazen secured $70,000,000 in listings that will be delivering in 2017.
Kent Willis joins Marcus & Millichap with a deep knowledge in representing clients in the buying, selling and lease of real estate. Prior to his real estate brokerage career, he ran a successful environmental services business that focused on industrial developments across Houston, implementing erosion control plans and landscape designs and installations for large institutional grade developers. Mr. Willis has worked with local developers to identify inner city industrial properties for redevelopment and has served as a tenant representative for multi-national companies looking to expand their distribution and manufacturing presence in Houston, the nation’s fourth largest industrial market.
“Coming from a smaller firm and learning how banks and life insurance companies underwrite real estate and working with veteran industrial brokers was a great learning experience. Leveraging the tools that Marcus & Millichap gives its brokers combined with the knowledge I gained, makes this a powerful and profitable move for both Marcus & Millichap and myself,” says Hazen. “The greater Houston area office and industrial market provides so many quality properties for investors and it will take companies that have superior technological platforms along with veteran agents to maximize investors’ wealth and secure top dollar for their dispositions and great value on their acquisitions.”
“I am very excited to join the Houston office of Marcus & Millichap. As an investment advisor for my clients, the access to technology and information provided here is unparalleled and something that sets this platform apart from others in the industry. Houston’s industrial market is healthy and should continue to steadily grow stronger as manufacturing activity increases and tonnage through the Houston-Galveston Customs District arises,” adds Kent.
