Manufacturer MedTorque expanding in Kenosha with new building lease
MedTorque Inc. is expanding production space in Kenosha and planning new hires after leasing a 20,600-square-foot building.
MedTorque, founded in 2004, makes drills, taps and other products that surgeons use for orthopedic surgery on hips and knees, for example, said president Kevin Marchant. It has hired two new people recently, bringing its employment to 16, and is planning five more hires over the next year, he said. It could double in size over the next three years.
MedTorque is moving out of a 4,600-square-foot space in Kenosha and by the end of the month will be in its new 20,600-square-foot building at 5601 95th Ave., said Jim Kettinger, associate with Lee & Associates, Rosemont, Ill. Kettinger and Sergio Chapa of Lee & Associates brokered the new lease.
MedTorque joins the swell of manufacturing activity in Kenosha County that ranges from huge deals like the Amazon.com facility to a recent 11,135-square-foot lease at 6919 51st St. that Lee & Associates brokered for MK Fabrications, a recently founded metal fab shop, Kettinger said.
