Long Valley Pub & Brewery Celebrates The Holidays With New Ale


LONG VALLEY, NEW JERSEY (November 10, 2014)—Who says Santa has to have cookies and milk on Christmas Eve?  The Long Valley Pub & Brewery seems to think the big man in the red suit might better enjoy a little more cheer with its new Holiday Celebration Ale, being crafted especially for the upcoming holidays.

Like all of its finely crafted beers, Holiday Celebration Ale will be produced at the Long Valley Pub & Brewery’s eight-barrel brewery located on premises within the restaurant.  The Brew Pub’s Master Brewer Joseph Saia has crafted Holiday Celebration Ale with delightful hints of flavors such as dry dates, dark chocolate and generous amounts of English hops as a festive complement to the ale’s stronger alcohol content of eight percent. 

“We are always crafting new ales as the seasons change and based on the freshest ingredients available,” noted Saia, master brewer of the Long Valley Pub & Brewery, which is one of four restaurants comprising Restaurant Village at Long Valley in Long Valley, New Jersey.  “Customers seem to prefer an ale reflective of the season’s foods and sweets but with a little more kick -- that is what we had in mind with Holiday Celebration Ale.”

Saia brews all of the Long Valley Pub & Brewery’s four standard ales and 20 rotating seasonal brews on tap, where the majority of it is consumed on premises.  The Pub & Brewery also packages its ales in growlers for patrons to enjoy off-premises.  Saia designs each beer style to be balanced and ensures that the flavors of the beer work together so there is no singular, dominant flavor attribute. Other seasonal favorites includes Country Bumpkin pumpkin, Oktoberfest, Stone Barn Stout, and Inspiration IPA.  The Long Valley Pub & Brewery’s beers have received numerous awards in the past including several at The Great American Beer Festival.

Saia has been in the beverage industry for 30 years, and practicing the art of brewing craft beer with the Long Valley Pub & Brewery since 1996, making him the longest running, most award winning brewer in New Jersey.  As a home brewer, Saia had been perfecting his recipes for years before joining the Long Valley Pub & Brewery.  In his years as master brewer at the Long Valley Pub & Brewery, he has brewed over 2,000,000 pints of beer for customers.  Saia is an expert in English Ales and has over the years perfected his recipes, many of them winning internationally recognized awards.  Some of these beers include local favorites such as his Nut Brown Ale, Long Valley’s Best Bitter and Lazy Jake Porter.  Lazy Jake Porter is one of the most award winning porters in its category at the Great American Beer Festival.
