Lockheed Martin Expands Lease at Fairbridge Properties’ Platte Airpark Center in Colorado Springs
Additionally, Computer Science Corporation Signs New Lease at the 95-Percent Leased Office Complex
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO (Nov. 30, 2015) - Fairbridge Properties, a privately held real estate investment company, announced today that aeronautics and defense contractor Lockheed Martin has signed a lease expansion at Platte Airpark Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
The 137,900-square-foot, Class-A office complex is now 95 percent leased. Lockheed Martin, which formerly occupied 35,669 square feet, will occupy 48,102 square feet. In addition, Computer Science Corporation will move from its existing location at the complex into a 5,000 square-foot space.
Platte Airpark Center is a five-building complex located in the city’s southeast submarket. With close proximity to Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado Springs Airport and major roadways, Platte Airpark Center has become a desirable location for large defense contractors and the aerospace industry. Additional tenants at the property include Boeing and L3 Communications.
“As tenant retention is something that we strive for at each and every one of our properties, the long-term presence of Lockheed Martin and Computer Science Corporation is a clear sign that our tenants are satisfied with Platte Airpark Center,” said Dr. Dmitry Gordeev, Fairbridge Properties’ founder and managing partner.
Acquired by Fairbridge in 2014, Platte Airpark includes energy-efficient features such as high-performance insulated glass on all exterior exposures and a high-efficiency HVAC system. In 2015 Fairbridge initiated and completed several major preventative maintenance projects on the windows and roofs of all five buildings. “With every asset acquired,” Gordeev said, “We make it a priority to create and execute a comprehensive business plan with the ultimate goal of improving an asset’s performance vis-à-vis preventative building maintenance, effective financial management, and increased energy efficiencies.”
With its current 95 percent occupancy rate, Platte Airpark Center has 6,000 square feet of available space for lease. Contact Brad Bird, Martin Johnson or Jared May of CBRE for more information, 1-719-471-6077.
