WEST ORANGE, N.J. (JUNE 27, 2012)—The Industrial and Office Brokers Association of the New York Metropolitan Area (IOREBA), recently hosted the 2012 Jeffrey Siegel Memorial Golf and Tennis Outing at the Essex County Country Club in West Orange, NJ. The 43rd annual event raised money and food to benefit The Community Food Bank of New Jersey's “Move For Hunger” program—a program dedicated to helping fight the nation’s growing hunger problem.
David A. Simon, the 2011-2012 president of IOREBA and executive managing director of Cassidy Turley, reflected on the past year serving as president of the organization, “While our industry continues to experience significant change, relationships and education are necessary to remain successful.” “These two fundamental concepts are a large part of what IOREBA strives to offer its members and guests. This past year we hosted events focused on a variety of topics including data centers, national and local real estate forecasts, state incentives, and we also offered a continuing education course for licensed salespeople,” he added.
In addition, IOREBA’s philanthropic efforts this year included donations to Toys for Tots and the “Move for Hunger” charity, along with a significant donation to Monmouth University’s Kislak Real Estate Institute that will be presented this summer.
The day of golf, tennis and networking concluded with the announcement of the new Board of Directors for the 2012-2013 calendar year, which includes: Treasurer Rob Dileo of NAI Dileo-Bram & Co.; Secretary Adam Silver of Newmark Grubb Night Frank; Vice President Marc Graham of Cushman and Wakefield; and President Josh Levering of NAI James E. Hanson.
During his tenure as president, Simon spent time working with the web design team to enhance IOREBA’s web site. A new Feature Property Section is being introduced that will enable salespeople and owners, who are members of IOREBA, to promote their properties.
“I have truly enjoyed being part of the Board of Directors over the past four years, and am grateful for the opportunity to help grow this organization while giving back to the industry and community,” Simon concluded.
