Honest Buildings Launches West Coast Expansion with Opening of New Los Angeles Office
Fast-Growing Online Real Estate Marketplace Taps Experienced Industry Professional Kevin Siebers to Manage West Coast Operations
Los Angeles (March 24, 2014) – Honest Buildings (HB Network), the leading connection engine for real estate projects, today announced the opening of its new Los Angeles office as part of the company’s strategy to expand into key commercial real estate markets throughout the U.S.
Accomplished real estate professional Kevin Siebers has been hired as vice president of business development for HB Network, and will be based in the company’s new Los Angeles office. Siebers, who brings more than a decade of experience in commercial real estate to his new role, was most recently a senior director at national real estate developer and investor, Tishman Speyer, where he was responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the company’s West Coast real estate portfolio.
The new Los Angeles office is the second U.S. office for HB Network, which originally launched in New York City, and reflects the continued momentum of the company’s flagship product, an online platform that connects building owners and managers with well-qualified building professionals. Since 2013, more than $145 million in real estate projects have been originated through the site, including $90 million originated in 2014 alone.
By providing a simple web platform for building professionals to create free, online portfolios of their work, HB Network is able to run custom searches on behalf of real estate decision-makers and produce detailed evaluations of experienced specialists who are qualified for their projects. The result is an efficient, enhanced process for building owners to quickly and thoroughly compare, vet and select the most relevant building professionals for the specific requirements of their projects, saving valuable time and resources.
“The successes we have achieved to date demonstrate the demand that exists in the real estate industry for tools that foster better decision-making when it comes to building improvements and maintenance,” stated Riggs Kubiak, co-founder and CEO of HB Network. “As the second largest commercial real estate market in the U.S., Los Angeles is a critical focus for HB Network as we expand our platform and service offerings to deliver simple, effective solutions for building owners and professionals that enable them to grow their businesses more efficiently.”
Added Kubiak: “Kevin’s extensive knowledge of the greater Los Angeles market fundamentals and industry landscape make him the ideal professional to lead HB Network’s local operations as we look to capitalize on our momentum.”
In his new role, Siebers will be responsible for leveraging his vast network of industry relationships to spearhead HB Network’s West Coast growth. During his 10 year career at Tishman Speyer, Siebers oversaw the operations of two large real estate private equity funds for Tishman Speyer, in addition to other roles in acquisitions and asset management.
Siebers noted that the Los Angeles Metro Area has the second largest inventory of commercial buildings in the U.S., which provides immense opportunity for a high volume of transactions through HB Network.
“The Los Angeles commercial real estate market is both sprawling and fragmented.” commented Siebers. “The sheer size of this market, coupled with the immense number of local, regional and global players who compete here, make Los Angeles prime for HB Network’s value proposition.”
HB Network currently hosts the portfolios of thousands of building professionals, including architects, engineers, contractors and technology experts, as well as the researched profiles of nearly two million commercial buildings worldwide. Prominent real estate companies whose project requirements have been serviced by HB Network include Cushman & Wakefield, Vornado Realty Trust, Sitt Asset Management, Madison International Realty, and many more.
In addition to its flagship service, the company’s HB+ offerings are also increasing accessibility and driving engagement around building-related initiatives for governments, utilities, building owners and managers and real estate service providers. The HB+ service platform includes a host of new features such as an iPad app, along with interactive web platforms that are consistently updated with new projects and can be integrated seamlessly with users’ own websites. To date, the states of New York and Connecticut, as well as Washington, D.C., the Department of Energy and Con Edison have leveraged HB+ tools to power websites that create greater transparency and foster the development of next-generation buildings and real estate projects. The result: information is more accessible to the public, allowing project development to flow more efficiently.
