Hollister Sponsors Mobile Blood Drive Through Community Blood Services
PARSIPPANY, NJ—Hollister Construction Services partnered with Community Blood Services to organize an on-site blood drive at its Parsippany headquarters in late February. Company employees participated in the drive by donating blood to help save the lives of others.
Hollister reached out to Community Blood Services after learning about a serious blood shortage in New Jersey. Nearly half of the company’s personnel donated blood during the event.
“Setting up a mobile blood drive couldn’t have been any more convenient or simple,” said Laura McConnell, Queen of Culture at Hollister Construction Services. “By donating blood, our employees were helping to ensure that an adequate supply of blood is available at many community hospitals. A single Hollister employee can save the lives of three people!”
Hollister’s internal Culture Committee sponsors many events throughout the year to encourage employees to participate in team-building functions. In addition, the company operates The Hollister Foundation, which was created to mobilize, energize and inspire professionals in the real estate and construction industries to support and fund children’s education and health program.
“We encourage our staff to volunteer their time, effort and passion to help worthy community organizations or causes,” said Chris Johnson, CEO and founder of Hollister.
Community Blood Services is a non-for-profit organization that supplies blood and blood products to hospitals in the New Jersey and New York region. The organization’s goal is to provide quality transfusion products and services to patients, physicians and hospitals in efforts to promote the health of their surrounding communities.
