Hollister Foundation and United Way of Northern New Jersey Raise Over $125,000 for Local Children During Annual Golf Classic
PARSIPPANY, N.J. – The Hollister Foundation and United Way of Northern New Jersey raised more than $125,000 for local children in need during their annual Help for Children Classic at Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, NJ, on Monday, October 19th.
Nearly 200 community-minded business leaders from a broad range of corporate, construction and real estate-related firms gathered at the world-renowned venue to participate in a spectacular day of golf to raise money and provide much-needed resources to underserved children across New Jersey.
Baltusrol Golf Club, which will host the PGA Championship in 2016, was an idyllic backdrop for an event that included thought-provoking signage throughout the course stating poignant facts about New Jersey’s children in need to highlight the importance of participating in the event.
New to this year’s event was a clinic sponsored by Intel, a multinational technology company. Opened to all participants, the clinic was taught by Hank Haney, coach to legendary golfers such as Tiger Woods. Hank Haney has been recognized as one of the top golf instructors and coaches in the country.
“The Hollister Foundation’s purpose is to build a community where all children are educated and healthy. The annual Help for Children Classic represents that and we are extremely lucky to be part of it,” Christopher Johnson, CEO at Hollister Construction Services.
The Hollister Foundation also partnered with GlassRoots, a community organization based in Newark, New Jersey that fosters life-long learning and creative self-expression through the wonder of glassmaking. GlassRoots produced unique glass awards for the event that were designed and fabricated by Newark children.
