Hollister Employee Gives All Saints Academy Students a Lesson on Building Their School from the Ground-Up
Parsippany, NJ — As part of Hollister Construction Services' ongoing effort to give back to the community, Keith Lovas, project manager, spent an afternoon as a volunteer teacher at All Saints Academy in Parsippany.
Lovas taught preschool, kindergarten and first-grade students at the academy how to construct a new school. He discussed with them what it takes to build a new school from the ground-up, from erecting the foundations to painting the walls.
“It’s always exciting to help guide and educate children, especially when they are really interested in the topic,” said Lovas. “It was a lot of fun talking the kids through the many steps we have to take to build a new school. They asked me a lot of smart questions and gave me some interesting ideas about how to improve their own school.”
All Saints Academy is a center for Catholic learning for students in preschool through eighth grade. Located in the center of Parsippany, N.J., the academy is a science, technology, engineering and math, or STEM, school of the Diocese of Paterson.
“It is rewarding to see our employees helping to make a difference in the community,” said Christopher Johnson, CEO and founder. “Their commitment is not surprising since they bring the same dedication to working with our partners and clients.”
