Hollister Construction Services Builds Modern Medical Office for Kayal Orthopaedic Center
PARSIPPANY, NJ — Hollister Construction Services, a leading full-service construction manager specializing in corporate, educational, healthcare, industrial, retail and residential construction, has completed a new outpatient medical facility for Kayal Orthopaedic Center, PC at 266 Harristown Road in Glen Rock, N.J. The firm finished the construction of a 6,150-square-foot, modern medical office for the orthopaedic care practice.
As the healthcare sector continues to evolve, Hollister has become a valued partner in the construction of outpatient medical facilities. Outpatient and urgent care centers are increasingly popular with patients, doctors and other health groups as they provide quick and convenient treatment in an efficient and economic manner.
“Hollister Construction Services has become one of the leading firms in the construction of medical offices and healthcare facilities,” said Christopher Johnson, founder and CEO of Hollister. “Kayal Orthopaedic Center was seeking to expand its practice and was under a tight timeline for the construction of its new medical offices. From start to finish, we completed the work in less than five months.”
Kayal Orthopedic Center contracted Hollister in August 2014 to construct a state-of-the-art medical office facility for the orthopaedic care practice on the first floor of 266 Harristown Road in Glen Rock, N.J. Hollister was recommended to the center for the project by a subcontractor that had previously worked with the company.
Brendan Murray, vice president, served as project executive, with Jack Cervino as project manager. Kayal Orthopaedic Center’s new medical offices at 266 Harristown Road were designed by William Mandara and Mary DeLaurentis with Mancini Duffy, with construction engineering services provided by Chris Delaney and Anthony Giordano with New York Engineers LLC.
The effort involved the demolition of the existing office layout on the first floor of the three-story building. Hollister constructed new medical offices, lead-lined X-Ray rooms, doctor’s offices with flat-screen televisions for patients, a reception area and a kitchen pantry.
Along with state-of-the-art medical equipment, the new outpatient center was designed with high-end finishes throughout the site, along with amenities that include sound-absorbing acoustical ceiling tile and linear diffusers to maximize air flow.
Hollister has recently completed a number of outpatient medical facilities, including a 16,000-square-foot interior renovation for Essex Specialized Surgical Institute in West Orange, N.J., where the effort included building four state-of-the-art operating rooms equipped for specialty eye surgery.
The firm also oversaw a 5,000-square-foot interior renovation for Vanguard Medical in Verona, N.J., including 11 examination rooms, new plumbing and a back-up power system; and the interior fit-out of Lakeland Healthcare Center in Haskell, N.J., where Hollister overhauled the center’s rehabilitation area, offices and reception area while it remained open and operating.
Hollister is about to break ground on LifeTown in Livingston, N.J., a 45,000-square-foot facility for families who have children with autism and other special needs. The center will include recreational, therapeutic, educational, and leadership training facilities.
