Baltimore, Md. — KLNB and Resource Enterprises, Inc., announced today that DICK’S Sporting Goods (NYSE: DKS), the largest U.S.-based, full-line omni-channel sporting goods retailer, has leased 42,959 square feet of retail space at Chatham Station Shopping Center at 9220 Baltimore National Pike in Ellicott City, Md. Construction began in February 2017 and the store is expected to open in the fall. Ryan Wilner of KLNB represented DICK’S in the transaction. Ryan Minnehan and Michael Patz of KLNB along with Kevin McNulty of Resource Enterprises, Inc., represented the landlord.
A known powerhouse in big box retail, KLNB has a history of identifying prime real estate for major retailers. “Our goal was to help DICK’S expand its footprint into the west side of Baltimore and position the store in a highly visible location that would draw their core customers,” said Ryan Wilner, principal at KLNB. “Ellicott City is one of the most affluent neighborhoods in the country and has a lot of local sports leagues. The area demographics paired with Chatham Station’s synergistic co-tenancy made it the perfect fit.”
On the landlord side, KLNB has been advising and consulting Chatham Station for five years. “We’ve had a great working relationship with the ownership over the years, consulting with them on potential tenants to lease to,” said Ryan Minnehan, principal at KLNB. “DICK’S will bring a diverse customer base and a tremendous amount of cross shopping to the center. And because KLNB represented both DICK’S and Chatham Station we were able to move the deal along more quickly and efficiently.”
Chatham Station Shopping Center, which features Home Depot, Giant Food and a variety of specialty stores and services and restaurants, is leased and managed by Resource Enterprises, Inc., a full-service commercial real estate firm serving the mid-Atlantic region.
