Cushman & Wakefield N.J. Brokers Face-Embrace "Movember"
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., Nov. 20, 2013 - Commercial real estate professionals are known to be a competitive group, and working toward the title of "best moustache" is no exception for 26 Cushman & Wakefield brokers based in the firm's East Rutherford office. This November, they are participating in the Movember campaign, which raises awareness and funds to combat prostate and testicular cancer.
Founded in 2003, Movember is a global men's health charity encouraging men to grow and women to support the Mo (moustache) for the 30 days of November. "Last year, more than one million participants globally were able to raise $148 million dollars for the cause, and this year we're looking to be part of the effort which tops that," said Nate Brzozowski, a senior financial analyst with Cushman & Wakefield's Consulting Group, who organized his firm's in-house effort.
Team Cushman & Wakefield is competing internationally with more than 1,000 groups - from Fortune 500 corporate squads to small private teams, and is well on its way to their fundraising goal of $7,500. "The response has been incredible," Brzozowski said. "More than half the male brokers based at our East Rutherford office are participating. And our co-workers, clients, families and friends have been incredibly generous."
Prostate cancer is currently the number-one cause of cancer-related death in men in the United Kingdom, and the number-two cause of cancer-related death in men in the United States. "Everyone knows someone who has been touched in some way by these diseases," Brzozowski said. "Testicular cancer is unique in that it attacks men as young as 20 years old. Some of our own Cushman & Wakefield co-workers are survivors. This good-natured competition benefits every man who is facing - or may face - one of these conditions."
