Couple Finds Ideal Home & Location at K. Hovnanian’s® Four Seasons at Manalapan
Manalapan, NJ, May 2014: Something had to give. Marissa Calabrese was commuting three hours each day to the eastern NJ coastal town of Toms River, from the home she shared in Warminster, PA, with her partner, Ann Marie Nicolosi. Ann Marie’s job was a little closer to home, on the western side of NJ. But they agreed that it was time for a more central location.
“I did that three-hour-a-day commute for nine years and I finally said, ‘I can’t do this anymore!’,” Marissa said, laughing. Thus began their search for a new home in central Jersey, closer to Marissa’s job in Ocean County and closer to some of Ann Marie’s family, who also live in the area.
“We started our search online and we looked for quite some time,” Marissa continued. “We wanted to be in an active-adult neighborhood and we wanted to be in Monmouth County. We looked at about three other communities, but we weren’t thrilled with what we found. We really liked one home, but it didn’t have enough closets and didn’t really suit our needs in many ways.”
When their search led them to K. It’s central for both our jobs, Ann Marie’s family is here, and we also have family in New York, so we’re closer to them.”

It’s also nice in the sense that the second bedroom and the second bath are separate from the owner’s suite. It’s almost like they’re in a different wing of the house, which is nice for privacy when we have guests. And there is plenty of storage in the house, which we really like.” They also appreciate the low-maintenance aspect of the community – particularly with the winter we’ve had. “We’re actually looking forward to the next snowstorm,” Ann Marie said, laughing. “We don’t have to shovel snow anymore!”
