Colliers International South Florida Continues Strategic Growth: Moves into Expanded Miami Office, Adds Space in Fort Lauderdale and Opens a New Office in Boca Raton
Miami, July 20, 2016 – As Colliers International continues to strategically expand its services and grow its team in South Florida, the firm has more than doubled its Miami office space with a move to 801 Brickell, one of Miami’s premier office buildings. As result of Colliers’ regional expansion, the firm has also opened an office in Boca Raton to expand coverage in Southern Palm Beach County and just signed a new lease for its downtown Fort Lauderdale office - doubling the size of its previous location.
“The expansion of our South Florida footprint reflects the company’s global growth strategy and has accelerated since Ken Krasnow joined the firm to lead this key market,” said Joe Harbert, President of Colliers International’s Eastern Region. Krasnow, Executive Managing Director and Market Leader of Colliers International South Florida, joined Colliers International in August 2015. “Domestic and international capital is chasing deals in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties, regardless of economic cycles. We have positioned our South Florida team to lead the way.”
In the past 18 months, the entrepreneurial culture of Colliers International has attracted some of the region’s most experienced leasing and investment brokers and the South Florida team now includes more than 110 real estate professionals, including brokers, valuation experts, property managers and researchers. In June, brokers Mika Mattingly and Gerard Yetming joined Colliers and launched the firm’s Urban Core division in response to the rapid shift toward re-urbanization in real estate. This follows the addition of powerhouse brokers Jonathan Kingsley and Stephen Rutchik and real estate icon Jack Lowell, who arrived via Colliers’ acquisition of Pointe Group Advisors. Led by founder Peter Gardner, Pointe Group expanded Colliers’ services by more than 7 million square feet of property management in the tri-county area. Additionaly, the firm underpinned its commitment to respond to the market by bringing Research and Consulting Manager Verity Mosquera on board.
“Part of our growth strategy consists of building a collaborative and collegial team with an enterprising spirit that has the depth and experience necessary to enable clients to succeed in South Florida’s competitive real estate market,” Krasnow said. “Many of us have worked in the region for decades, and we have the institutional knowledge and relationships that allow us to create opportunities for investors, end-users, landlords and tenants.”
In addition to expanding, Colliers International is also investing in programs to mentor and train emerging professionals through the firm’s Emerging Brokers platform. The program is designed to help Millennials gain the necessary skills to thrive in their real estate careers.
As the firm grows in response to South Florida’s evolving real estate market, Colliers International plans to expand its Urban Core team along with adding retail and industrial practice groups. It will also grow its occupier practice group, building upon the recruitment of long-time veteran Bob Schneiderman and its success with Latin American corporations looking to have a larger presence in South Florida. The firm is also adding resources to its Corporate Solutions LATAM team, which works with U.S. corporations looking to buy, sell or lease real estate in Latin America. CS LATAM serves as the Single Point of Contact to the client and coordinates with the various Colliers offices in Latin America. Some of Colliers’ Corporate Clients are Equifax, Microsoft, Oracle, Regus, Thomson Reuters and 3M.
Colliers International’s growth strategy also includes further developing specialty practices such as student, senior and affordable housing groups in South Florida.
