December 16, 2016
HOLLAND, Mich. (WOOD) –- A sweet mainstay in Traverse City is opening a store in West Michigan.
Cherry Republic plans to open its sixth store at 28 West 8th Street in downtown Holland. The popular cherry product retailer is based in Glen Arbor with additional locations in Traverse City, Charlevoix, Ann Arbor and Frankenmuth.
Cherry Republic president and founder Bob Sutherland plans to incorporate “Holland flair” when updating the 2,745 square-foot retail space.
NAI Wisinski of West Michigan, which helped lure Cherry Republic to the area, says changes to the storefront will be minimal.
Visitors to the 8th Street store will find Michigan cherry jams, salsas, and treats lining its shelves, along with a tasting bar for wines and sodas.
The retailer plans to hire 12-15 people for the new store, which is expected to open in March 2017.
