Centered on Capitol Wins Big at National Association of Home Builders National Awards Competition
TRUMARK RECEIVES THREE GOLD AWARDS, SIX SILVER AWARDS AND SPECIAL RECOGNITION FOR CHARITY:WATER PROJECT
SAN JOSE, Calif. – February 10, 2014 – The National Association of Home Builders honored Trumark Homes’ Centered on Capitol community in San Jose with three Gold Awards—including the prestigious Community of the Year —as well as six Silver Awards during its recent National Awards ceremony in Las Vegas.
Trumark received special recognition for its work with Charity: Water, a nonprofit that brings clean, safe drinking water to people in developing nations.
“This year couldn’t have started out better for Trumark,” said Mark Higgins, Senior Vice President, Trumark Companies. “We knew that Centered on Capitol was a special community, but to have it recognized nationally is truly an honor.”
Centered on Capitol, Trumark’s community of 94 contemporary three-story townhomes on 4.4 acres in the Berryessa District of Silicon Valley was named the NAHB’s Community of the Year – Attached, out of all nominees nationwide.
“Located in a high-tech hub, every detail has to live up to high expectations,” the judges stated. “The name speaks to a desire to be close to everything but also to know that home is the center of my universe. This community is truly ‘Centered,’ from the name, marketing materials, sales office and overall design of the plans. The colors and visuals are energetic and inviting—reflecting the feel of the community spaces and livable floor plans.”
Centered on Capitol also won Gold Awards for Best Sales Office and Best Graphic Continuity, and Silver Awards for Best Outdoor Living Space and several community marketing categories including Best Logo Design, Best Website, Best Internet Marketing Campaign and Best Signage Design.
“A well thought-out, cohesive campaign is beautifully brought to life in this sales center experience,” the judges said of the sales office, and they lauded the “palpable energy” in the community’s “use of eye-popping graphics across a variety of platforms,” including the web, sales office, signage and collateral. “The consistent use of the graphics and fresh colors captures the essence of the location and conveys a completely pulled-together campaign targeting a very savvy consumer,” the judges stated.
Trumark also received a Silver Award for Builder Industry Community Spirit for its work with Charity:Water, Through its partnership with Charity:Water, Trumark donates one new well for every 25 to 50 homes that the company builds.
“We’re in the business of building communities for people right here at home,” said Trumark Principal and cofounder Michael Maples. “But we see an opportunity to carry out the same mission around the world.”
The Nationals is the nation’s largest competition for new home sales and marketing professionals and communities. Awards are presented each year at The Nationals Awards Gala during the International Building Show.
