Newmark Grubb ACRES (NGA) is pleased to welcome Ben Richardson. Ben is an industrial agent and development specialist, focusing on leasing existing industrial spaces and assisting in the sales of land for future development. He led the acquisition of 65 acres which will be the site of a mixed-use development with over 300,000 SF of Class A office and industrial space. He has advised WI Commercial Properties in the development of over 450,000 SF of pre-leased industrial space and over 150,000 SF of office. Of this impressive square footage Ben’s transactions have included several headquarter leases including deals for Jive Communications, Global Payment Solutions and the regional headquarters for Sykes Communications.
Ben began his career in real estate at Coldwell Banker in 2005, where he specialized in developing residential subdivisions. He transitioned to commercial real estate when he moved to CBC in 2013. Ben attended the University of Utah.
“I’m excited to join NGA because of the national platform and the strength of the industrial team,” said Ben, “and I’m looking forward to bringing that national platform to Utah County. This provides greater opportunity to court national tenants, international tenants, and larger qualified tenants through the vast Newmark network. This expansive platform will give our existing clients better presence and more exposure to national tenants seeking office space in the Silicon Slopes or industrial space near the Intermodal Hub.”
NGA President Mike Falk said, “We’re excited to have such a strong player join our team and elevate our services in Utah County to the next level.”
Ben’s arrival strengthens NGA’s presence in Utah County, where he focuses his efforts, and brings additional power to the Industrial Advisory Group (IAG), which is already the dominant industrial force in the state. Managing Director Nick Wood said, “The experience Ben brings bolsters our market-leading industrial team. Ben will lead the Utah County market as we continue to add to our existing footprint to better serve our clients.”
Kyle Roberts, executive vice president at NGA, said, “Ben is one of the most dynamic brokers in Utah County with over 10 years of market-leading industrial and office presence. He brings with him an extremely impressive list of clients, including exclusive relationships with some of the largest office and industrial mixed-use projects along the Wasatch Front. Paired with NKF’s dynamic platform, Ben can now add value to his clients across the spectrum of real estate needs, from debt and equity placement to energy consulting and workspace planning. NKF’s Capital Markets platform will also provide Ben with tools and exposure to resolve client needs on a global scale. With Ben’s drive, talent and relationships and our platform, Ben has a very long and very wide runway ahead of him. We couldn’t be more pleased to have him as a part of our team.”
Ben’s proven track record includes dozens of deals with WICP, a group that develops, owns and manages over 1.2 million SF in Florida and Utah. Founded in 1994, WICP has active ownership and a hands-on approach. Ben has assisted WICP in the development and leasing of over 55 acres in Utah County.
