IRR-Detoit Mid-Year Viewpoint 2015 Local Market Report - Industrial
The Metro Detroit Industrial market is getting very tight in certain markets and overall is at equilibrium. There has been several new construction projects to accommodate an auto industry that is selling peak number of units for 2015. Detroit has become the epicenter for both domestic and worldwide auto technology, including driverless vehicles.
Auto production drives demand for all space types including manufacturing, R & D flex space and warehousing facilities. Even Class C buildings, typically described as older, less functional industrial properties are in demand again, given the limited options on space and sustained demand for industrial facilities.
